About the role

Due to our exponential growth, we are looking for an experienced Head of SEO to join us and lead the team and product. Reporting to the General Manager and working alongside our Senior Leadership Team, you will partner with our clients to build strong relationships, ensure the channel strategy drives business outcomes and educate clients and their team on the value of a best-practice SEO operation.Day-to-day, you will lead our global team in the development and execution of client SEO strategies and roadmaps, develop and upskill the team and support their growth plans, add to and improve our product suite and streamline our end-to-end SEO delivery across content production, technical excellence, link acquisition and actionable insights.

As Head of SEO, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Full ownership and accountability of the SEO department, including P&L, retention + upgrades
  • Building strong senior relationships across our portfolio of clients by adding value and thought leadership
  • Map and grow the teams strengths and design a weekly learning program for all staff
  • Set, drive and measure the effectiveness of client SEO strategies and participate in Multi-channel strategy setting, with a focus on driving business outcomes
  • Define, refine and streamline our processes
  • Develop a Product innovation roadmap, including adding new products
  • Develop Growth Plans for all staff members and work with the eCommerce Directors reporting to you, coaching them to improve and assisting in their team’s growth
  • Bring your authority to bear, being the voice of LION Digital in the market with all matters related to SEO and its broader impact across other channels
  • Support the Sales team by impressing prospects with your aptitude and knowledge, support them in new business activities.

Requirements

  • A candidate with ideally 10+ years of agency experience with a proven track record of growing SEO, bonus if you’ve worked on international campaigns
  • Demonstrated team leadership experience and capability to manage a remote team across the globe
  • A strong communicator with experience running successful SEO campaigns. You’re comfortable operating in a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment
  • A deep understanding of search with a focus on eCommerce
  • Holistic mindset linking SEO’s impact to the client’s marketing mix
  • Experience in producing in-depth content strategy, content production, as well as large scale link building required.
  • You have strong analytical skills and are comfortable using various data sources to guide your decision-making.
  • You have deep knowledge in all aspects of SEO including content optimisation, technical excellence, migrations and link acquisition strategies
  • Hands-on experience with SEO and web analytic tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMRush, Ahrefs, Screamingfrog, DataStudio and Hubspot
  • You’re a self-motivated learner with a strong attention to detail
  • You’re a collaborative team-player and problem-solver who’s always looking for ways to innovate.

  • Base: $130-$150k depending on experience
  • Bonuses: $20k/$40k/$60k
